TEAMMATES SHARE USAC WESTERN FORD FOCUS POINTS LEAD
SACRAMENTO,
CALIFORNIA (April 5, 2011)
– With three USAC Western Pavement Ford Focus midget races in the
books, the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle team has swept the top three
spots in the points including Eureka’s Brandon White and Westlake
Village’s Jessica Clark tied atop the points standings.
Ron Sutton’s
Winner’s Circle is a NASCAR-oriented driver development program with
27 drivers from all over the world racing in USAC, NASCAR, and ARCA
competition for the program.
The RSWC Ford
Focus team is one of the most accomplished teams in the history of
the series and in 2011 they are off on the right track towards
another big season. Along with recording three wins in the USAC
Young Guns they have had several runner up finishes in the USAC Ford
Focus Midgets.
Clark kicked
off her 2011 season with a second place finish at Blythe followed up
by a fifth place run at Havasu the following week. On Saturday
night at Madera Speedway, she was running third when the fuel pump
broke to end her night.
The 17
year-old will be competing for both the NASCAR S2 Sportsman title at
TOYOTA Speedway and the USAC Ford Focus titles in 2011 and her
NASCAR season kicks off on Saturday at Irwindale.
White has put
together a pair of sixth place finishes and a season best fourth at
Havasu. His qualifying results have given him a huge boost in the
points, timing in second at Blythe and third at Havasu. White is
also in the mix for the SoCal Young Guns championship after winning
at Blythe.
White and
Clark’s teammate Paul Graham, a rookie to the Ron Sutton program and
Ford Focus racing, is just one point back in third to round out the
trifecta.
“The two
series veterans have picked up where they left off last year,” Head
of Driver Development Ron Sutton said. “To have our drivers leading
the top three in the USAC Western points is a good start with our
NorCal drivers still waiting to start their season!”
The USAC SoCal
Ford Focus Midgets will resume on April 16 at the ultra-fast Las
Vegas Bullring while the USAC NorCal Ford Focus Midgets will kick
off their campaign on April 23 at Shasta Raceway Park.
